Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G-Specs & Review

Xiaomi’s Mi 11 Lite is another alternative for all who would love the Mi 11 experience but for much less. It comes in two models- the Mi 11 Lite 5G and the LTE version.

Both these models share a similar design, powerful processors, camera setups, and displays. The 4G/LTE model is the cheaper, it shares most features with the 5G model but it is based on a less powerful Snapdragon 732G processor.

The overall built of the Mi 11 Lite is beautiful in almost any way you might look at it, it’s very light-weighing just 159g, and thin-measuring 160.5×75.7×6.8mm. It has a flat Gorilla Glass 6 on the front and frosted glass on the back and a thin plastic frame in the middle.

Xiaomi’ Mi 11 Lite lacks IP rating for dust and water resistance, the phone is not even splash proof. On the back is frosted glass with an anti-glare finish. There is also a noticeable camera bump with a glossy finish at the rear (similar design as the one on the Mi 11 flagship). It’s a two-step glass – the larger piece is thinner and packs the 8MP ultrawide camera and the dual-LED flash, while the smaller but thicker glass houses the 64MP primary and the 5MP macro shooters.

The volume rocker and the power key are on the right. The power/lock button’s surface is also an always-on fingerprint scanner. The left side of the phone doesn’t have any buttons on it.

At the top is an IR blaster and secondary mic while the bottom has the USB-C port, mouthpiece, dual-SIM hybrid tray, and the other stereo speaker. Xiaomi’ Mi 11 Lite 5G supports either Dual SIM set up or a SIM card + microSD card.

Onto the display, the Mi 11 Lite 5G sports a 6.55 inch AMOLED screen with an even border around the edges. It supports a refresh rate of 90Hz and a touch sampling of 240Hz, and right at the top right corner of the screen is a punch-hole for the selfie camera. Just above the screen is the grille that hides the stereo speaker and doubles as an earpiece.

Xiaomi’ Mi 11 Lite 5G boots Android 11 with MIUI out of the box. Powering it is the new Snapdragon 780G processor which is manufactured by Samsung on a 5nm fabrication which includes an internal X53 5G/LTE modem, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 are supported, too.

The SD780G contains an 8-core tri-cluster processor in the following configuration: the Kryo 670 Prime clocked at 2.4GHz based on the ARM’s Cortex-A78 design. Then comes a trio of Kryo 670 Gold clocked at 2.2GHz, also based on the Cortex-A78. Finally, we have the four Kryo 670 Silver clocked at 1.8GHz based on Cortex-A55 for more simple tasks. The Adreno 642 handles all things graphically.

Xiaomi’ Mi 11 Lite 5G is available with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, depending on the storage options – 128GB or 256GB. There is an 8/128 version, too. Take a look at its benchmarks here.

There is a 64MP primary camera which is by Samsung and it is a 1/1.97″ imager with 0.7µm pixels and Tetra-cell filter. This sensor sits behind a 25mm f/1.8 lens, it supports PDAF but has no OIS.

The next camera is an 8MP 1/4″ Sony IMX355 with an ultrawide-angle 15mm f/2.2 lens and has fixed focus.

There’s a 5MP Samsung S5K5E9 1/5″ macro sensor with 1.12µm pixels. 49mm f/2.4 telemacro lens, and has Autofocus. This is the same macro camera found on the Mi 11.

Xiaomi’ Mi 11 Lite 5G also shares the same selfie camera as the Mi 11 – a 20MP snapper with an aperture of f/2.2 based on Samsung’s ISOCELL Slim S5K3T2 1/3.4″ sensor with 0.8µm pixels and Tetra-cell color filter.

Xiaomi’ Mi 11 Lite 5G is powered by a 4,250mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging.
