We’ve seen so much from Samsung so far this year. The trend we have noticed is that Samsung launches its flagship Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series, followed by a more affordable model of either the S series version or Note series. The Samsung device in discussion is the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE(Fan Edition) 5G. The release of this more affordable version is usually few months after the release of the more premium and expensive devices, it is not a defined period as per say. The rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G begun back in July.
The upcoming Galaxy S20 FE 5G has so many similarities to the already released Galaxy Flagships. The cherry on the cake, however, is the fact that it features all of the best specs from the S20 series and from the Note 20 series and all this for the price of $750. According to PriceBaba, dimensions of the device are said to be roughly 161 x 73 x 8mm. It is said to sport the same design as the Galaxy S20, similarly with the Note 20, it will have a “Glasstic” rear and has IP68 dust and waterproof rating and will have an under-display fingerprint scanner. The display is rumored to be between 6.4-inches -6.5-inch AMOLED screen which is approximately 0.2 inches larger than the Samsung Galaxy S20, though it is unclear what the resolution of the display will be. This screen is rumored to have a 120Hz refresh rate (this is what the Note 20 doesn’t have), and the phone will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 (lets hope there won’t an Exynos 990 version), with 5G support and will come with up to 8GB of RAM paired up with up to 512GB of internal storage. Powering this amazing device will be a mammoth 4,500mAh battery, that’s 500mAh bigger than the Galaxy S20 and 200mAh bigger than the Note 20.
The Galaxy S20 FE 5G is expected to have a pronounced rectangular camera module on the rear – like the S20 series and Note 20 series both feature – and it’s said to have a 3.3mm punch hole front camera. According to a tweet by Ice Universe, the phone will feature a 12MP Sony IMX555 primary camera, the same sensor used on the Galaxy S20. The other sensors are expected to comprise a 12MP ultra-wide camera and 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The front camera could be a 32MP unit as compared to the 10MP module on the S20 and Note 20.
As for the ports and buttons, the power button and volume rocker are on the left, while the bottom edge houses a USB Type-C port, loudspeaker and single microphone. The ejectable SIM card tray is located at the top. As expected, there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack. An in-display fingerprint sensor is pretty much a given, judging by previous Galaxy S-series phones. The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G will cost $750, that’s $250 cheaper than both the Galaxy S20 and Note 20. So if you’re looking for Samsung’s best value premium smartphone, you need to wait until October because the Fan Edition stands head and shoulders above its Seniors.
