The Samsung Galaxy M51 was announced on August 31st, 2020 following the launch of the Galaxy M31s. It features a glass front with Gorilla Glass 3, plastic rear and a plastic frame. It has a 6.7 inch Super AMOLED Plus display with 1080 x 2340 resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio (~385 ppi density). On the front you will notice the punch-hole in the top right center of the screen, where above it lies the earpiece. There is also a noticeable evenly boarder around the screen. On the rear, is a quad camera cluster at the top left corner.
Like most Samsung smartphones released this year, it runs on Android 10 and complimented by Samsung One UI 2.1. The engine powering this device is the standard Qualcomm SDM730 Snapdragon 730G (8 nm) which is mostly found on the mid-range devices like itself. This is a gaming centric processor so you should get excellent gaming performance. There is a single storage option with 128GB and Memory options of either 6GB or 8GB, paired with this is the Adreno 618. Great part of all this is it also has provision for expandable storage via MicroSD.
The Samsung Galaxy M51 features a 64-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture; a second 12-megapixel ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and 123 degrees FOV; next is a 5-megapixel macro lense with an f/2.4 aperture and finally a 5-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. Digital zoom, auto flash, face detection, and touch to focus are the other features included. It sports a 32-megapixel camera on the front for selfies, with an f/2.2 aperture.
However, all the specs and features mentioned are not new to most people which is ok. But the best is yet to come because main attraction of the Galaxy M51 is the battery. Yes, the BATTERY! It is an insane 7000 mAh non-removable battery with 25W fast charging support. Which according to Samsung India will have Up to 64hrs of talk time, up to 24 hrs internet usage time, 34hrs of video play time, and 182 hrs music play time. Despite these numbers being based on lab test results, they are still astounding.
Available in Celestial Black and Electric Blue colors, the Galaxy M51 is priced at €360 ($429). The preorders started shipping out on September 11, 2020.
