The modern mobile gaming business is growing ever so big and now Lenovo joins the battle with its, first ever, powerful Lenovo Legion Duel (or Pro as its called in China) phone. This device targets mobile gamers, if you are looking for a phone that is good on photography this may not be the device for you. Three years after the launch of Lenovo’s gaming sub-brand, they introduce the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel—the powerful, immersive and fast-charging smartphone with sub-6 5G1 for better coverage and tested speeds up to 2.52 Gb/s, According to Lenovo.

Coming to the built and design, the device measures 169.2 x 78.5 x 9.9 mm (6.66 x 3.09 x 0.39 in) in dimensions and weighs 239g. It has a glass built both front and back with an aluminum frame sandwiching the glass. It has no IP rating for water and dust resistant but it does have what Lenovo calls water-repellant coating… Between you and me, I wouldn’t take my phone for a deep and start playing games in the pool… Cheers! On to the display, a beautiful 6.65-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and approximately 388ppi density. This display has flawless 144Hz refresh rate with 240Hz touch sampling. Drooling smoothness!

Lenovo are one of the first to feature the next-level, powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus 5G Mobile Platform that delivers absolute hype performance across the board for incredibly-fast Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming™, plus global 5G support these are coupled with up to 16GB LPDDR5 high capacity RAM or the optional 12GB configuration, and ample storage up to 512GB UFS 3.1 and an Adreno 650. Other storage and RAM options include 128GB/8GB RAM, 128GB/12GB RAM, and 256GB/12GB RAM.

Time for those cameras!!! The beauty of gaming smartphones is that they are always trying new innovations regardless of how crazy and the Legion Duel is no exception. It features a 20MP side-mounted pop-up selfie camera, strange place to place a selfie camera but like i said earlier that this phone was created for gamers. Going to the back, the dual rear camera array is located right in the middle of the phone’s backside, this is not very convenient but keeping in mind that most games are played in landscape mode, the hands will unlikely get in the way of the lenses and it’s eventually something a gamer will have to get used to. The main lense is a 64 MP, f/1.9, 25mm (wide), 1/1.72″, 0.8µm, PDAF and there is the 16MP ultra wide lense with an aperture of f/2.2 equivalent to 16mm.

The phone features and is powered by two 2500mAh batteries totaling to a massive 5000mAh capacity. These two batteries are located on both ends of the phone if you are holding it in a horizontal position and top and bottom if you are holding it vertically. This leaves Lenovo to placing the logic board encasing the processor at the center of the phone to prevent the gamer from touching the warm area where the processor is located. The Legion Phone Duel has multiple USB-C ports, with one at the bottom of the phone when held in portrait mode and another opposite the pop-up selfie cam on the side. You can use either to charge the phone, here’s the cool part, you can quickly charge the phone’s two 2500mAh internal batteries in around 30 minutes by plugging USB-C cables into both ports. Super!!!!!! I personally feel this is super cool, because i love my phone at full charge whenever and however to get the games loading and playing.

Now for availability, this will sadly not be released in the US but will be available in selected markets in Asia, Latin America, and EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).
