Best Of The Tablets And iPads

I’ve never been much of a Tablet lover but I am always interested in what they pack and what they bring to the table. Tablets are generally bigger than smartphones and thus prevent heavy mobility usage i.e. they are impractical to carry wherever you go. Perhaps the biggest difference between tablets and smartphones when it comes to marketing is that people use them in different places. For the most part tablets are kept at home, or brought out only on long trips.

Meanwhile, smartphones are taken everywhere and used constantly. Another important point is that tablets don’t make phone calls. That fact alone makes people think about the two platforms differently. A phone is considered a necessity, while a tablet is much more a luxury or productivity device like a computer. It is generally difficult to target individuals on a tablet because of the diverse ways in which they are used.

Top-End Tablets for The Tablet Lovers

For the business individuals on the move or simply the die-hard fan of tablets, here are some of the best tablets you can currently find on the market (please note that these are in no particular order):

SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB S4 10.5(Released August, 2018)

This tablet was the first tablet to add dual monitor support to Samsung DeX. What this actually means is that you can hook up an external monitor over HDMI and use both it and the tablet’s own screen. This way you get not only a larger screen, but two screens to spread your work. This is also the oldest tablet on our list, the main reason it still features on this list is because it still is a worthy tablet and can hold its own against the current tablets. Here are its specs and features:

Body: Metal frame, glass front and back

Screen: 10.5″ Super AMOLED, 2560 x 1600px, with an aspect ratio of 16:10

Chipset: Snapdragon 835 chipset and an Adreno 540

Storage & Memory: 64GB 4GB RAM, 256GB 4GB RAM, 256GB 6GB RAM. With microSD card slot

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 was designed for those on the move. With a beautiful aesthetic design, minimal bazels and a flagship chipset it’s a standout tablet despite its age. It comes with a base storage and memory of 64GB 4GB RAM and other storage and memory options include 256GB 4GB RAM and 256GB 6GB RAM. Incase you still need more storage; this tablet has expandable storage options of up-to 400GB. Comes with Android 8.1(Oreo) from the box and you can install the AOSP Android 10 Custom GSI build for the Galaxy Tab S4. Thanks to the XDA Recognized Developer phhusson for making this possible.

The bundled S Pen is an excellent addition to the tablet experience. It’s a full-size pen making it very comfortable to hold and use and to top it off it doesn’t need charging. Press the button on the barrel while hovering over the screen and you’ll get a menu of pen productivity tools, if you have used the Note series form Samsung you’ll easily understand this concept. You can even write on the display without opening an app or even unlocking the tablet, which makes it particularly handy for jotting down a quick to-do or shopping list. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 doesn’t disappoint as a high-end Android tablet thanks to a great display, good audio quality and solid performance.

The Apple iPad Pro 11 Features Apple’s A12X (or A12Z for 2020) Bionic processor, there are a total of eight cores here and a neural engine for speedy machine learning. What you have is blazing speed, whether you’re editing images in Photoshop or hunting down players in PUBG. Storage options range from 64GB (or 128GB for 2020) all the way up to 1TB, but obviously the price rises wildly with it.

The tablet supports a stylus/Apple Pencil but doesn’t come with it and neither does it come with the Smart keyboard. The Apple Pencil attaches magnetically and will charge wirelessly. There’s also a new Magic Keyboard case, which includes a trackpad this is going for approximately $300. It’s no doubt that the Apple iPad Pro 11 is, not just expensive but very expensive.

If you’ll be able to harness the power and use it for its intended purpose for which it was solely created for then, you’ll truly have pleasure working on this work-machine. Would I recommend this tablet? Well, yes and no. yes for the professional creative who wants a powerful second support device, the iPad Pro 11 is a strong choice. No if you’re just an average user wanting something new and shiny, you’ll have a very, very strong tablet in your hands, one that’s remarkably capable and which has been upgraded and enhanced in a number of ways by Apple but if you really must have it, be my guest– just be ready to splash out the cash.

The 2020 iPad Pro’s upgrades are minor, but it’s priced the same as the outgoing model, so it’s easy to recommend the new version. Seeing as the 2018 version has been replaced by the 2020 version it will probably have discounts.
